Why you should consider Long Tail Keywords also for link building

by Guest Author on February 11, 2012

Keywords are those words that are the crux of the content used in an article or in content writing for a website. Many people are now writing mostly while sitting at home to earn extra income. Keywords can be categorized into two types .One is simple keyword. This type of keyword when used to create back links to other WebPages or content on the web is called simple back linking. Whereas when one uses the other type of keyword that is also called key phrase or long tail keyword to create a back link, it is called or referred to as long tail link building. Content writers agree to the fact that long keywords are more favorable for link building but a person new to content writing can also use simple keywords.

Why the Long tail phase?

Many people think that long tail phase is for the sole purpose that they are mostly searched in major search engines. This means that by using long tail keywords a person has the chance of connecting their website to major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN search .Also many content writers have advocated that larger keywords are also favorable due to the fact that they are less difficult to get ranked and happen to be far less competitive as not many people tend to use larger keywords. Also they are more specific when compared to the target the user or customer is looking for. For instance if generic term is keyword it may get hit upon many times and this means many content writers will be using it for their content .While larger phrases may bring about the exact result on major search engines, more writers are in favor of long tail keywords.

Long Tail Keywords

Benefiting from the long Keyword:

The best feature of long tail keywords is the fact that they can convert into sales and ad clicks on your websites. Also most people who know exactly what they are looking for will type a long tail keyword to get the results. For instance typing “Admissions tips for Ivy League” will bring out the desired result of the customer and hence the search engine will definitely show the appropriate website upper most. It will give a more specific result to be exact and show websites accordingly. The second best part is the lack of competition that longer keywords offer to the content writer and get their websites ranked on the very first pages of the Google or yahoo search results.

Long tail keywords FTW!!

Many people still use simple keywords as they are easier to find and are easy to write about being generic in nature. This means that you can get average amount of clicks on your website but you would be fighting for ranking on the search results. Long tail keywords used for link building are beneficial. They might not help a person get a lot of traffic on their website but they can definitely help them convert more and get more ad clicks.

I must say that Long tail keywords are very important in Link Building because the more you put quality keywords, the more the chance to increase rank.

I usually do not leave a response, however I read a few
of the comments here Should You consider Long Tail Keywords For Link Building. I do have 2 questions
for you if you do not mind. Could it be only me or does it look like like a few of these responses
appear like they are coming from brain dead visitors?
:-P And, if you are writing at other social sites, I’d like to follow everything new you have to post. Would you list of every one of your public pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
